Baroque Meets Modern Design

Lately I have been loving modern decor, but at times I feel like it is too simple and lacks a little flair. I came across this photo set today, which showcased Baroque design mixed with modern decor.

I love the way these rooms use Baroque- whether it is an over sized mirror, patterned fabrics/wallpaper, or even heavy drapes to cover the windows.


While the Baroque style is mostly seen in old paintings showcasing churches from the 17th century and onward, a new wave of modern Baroque has really taken off; illuminating rather dull spaces into grand, yet functional living areas.

Modern Baroque can be tricky to pull off, as finding a balance of clean/functional, mixed with somewhat pretentious and larger ornaments can leave you with a disaster if not done just right .
