Vera Wang Can Do No Wrong

I just loved these images of Vera Wang jewelry pieces. Everyone knows her for designing gorgeous dresses, but her other lines are beautiful as well! I especially love the black diamond snake at the end! I have no idea where someone would wear that to, or even how they would incorporate that into an outfit, but it is so pretty to look at!

The Ice Queen

These photos from an issue of UK's Vogue are so beautiful. Sometimes I think it would be fun to play the whole "ice queen" role! But alas, I think I am too nice :)

Pillow Perfect

I'm in search of the right pillows and it is such a daunting task! I thought it would be simple since we have a mocha colored couch and our living room is pretty neutral and in dire need of some color! But there are SO many pillows out there, and I can't seem to find the right ones that fit together without buying a bunch of the same pillows! These images really made me realize that I still need to think further out-of-the-box and try something different!

Going Green...

Happy weekend everyone :) I hope you all enjoy some rest & relaxation! I'm going to spend my weekend figuring out ways where our house can become a little bit "greener" because I truly feel that this is such an important change to make! I bought some energy-saving light bulbs, made my own cleaning solution out of water and vinegar, and I've recently been using knit bags at the grocery store. I'm no where at the level of living completely sustainable, but it's a start! I'd love to hear any ideas that you have as well!

Christian Dior Circa 1950

I found this gorgeous, vintage 1950s Dior dress during my endless search for the perfect cocktail dress. The fabric is silk peau de soie and the label reads Christian Dior New York. Swoon. I love the four-tiered fringed skirt, fitted bodice, and its overall elegant look. I paired it with flats, a cocktail ring, and a chunky bracelet, but I can easily see it with a bold necklace, pumps, and a clutch.

Kate Winslet is undoubtedly one of the most sought after women in Hollywood these days, and I can totally see why! I think she is just exquisite, especially in these photos from Vanity Fair and Elle.

An Ode to the Flat

A few years ago my Mom and I took a 'girls' trip to Texas where I bought a pair of gold ballet flats for $7 in this old, tired vintage shop. They were the last pair, and even though they were a size too big (nothing a little padding couldn't fix) the price was so appealing that I couldn't pass them up. After 3 years of wear and tear they are still my favorite pair of shoes and they may just have to disintegrate into mid-air before I ever part with them!

So here's to flats...and hoping they never, ever go out of style...and that they'll always be a substitute for the dreadful heel...and...well, you get the point :)
