A Little Sunshine

Lately I've been obsessed with the color yellow, especially in interior spaces. Maybe it's all the sunshine we were having last weekend?! Not sure, but I've been looking up yellow rooms like a mad woman this week. I'll be honest, nothing in my house is this color. No yellow pillows, or dishes, or blankets, or accents- zilch, zip, zero. I really need to change this and add some yellow asap!

It puts me in a better mood instantly! Sending tons of sunshine your way :) xoxo

Donna Karan's Manhattan Apartment

My love affair with New York City started when I was really young. My parents finally took me for my 13th birthday, and to be honest, I had a full blown anxiety attack the first day we were there. Not the reaction I was expecting! The energy, the movement, the tall buildings- everything was just a little too much for me. Each day I got a little more comfortable, and by the time we had to leave I wanted nothing more than to stay! I.was.in.love. I've returned over the years; my favorite trip being the one that followed shortly after September 11th to visit the site and mourn the ones we lost. It's been a few years now since I've been able to get back there, and I just cannot wait until I can go again! Until then, I am left here in Los Angeles to look at gorgeous apartments and views of that beautiful city that I cannot wait to return to!

Can you just imagine having that view?!

H&M Home Decor

I always like shopping at H&M for clothes, but until recently I had no idea that they have an entire home decor line as well! I don't think it is available in the US, but it's really cute and I hope that they bring it here soon. I loved these accessories for a living room or bedroom:

Soft pinks and neutrals- love it!

The Shoe Guide

I love looking at Net-A-Porter, even if I can't afford much on their site! The shoe guide inside their monthly online magazine is pretty amazing- here are some of my favorites:

Ahh to dream!

Gwyneth Paltrow's Hamptons Home

I'm loving these photos of Gwyneth Paltrow's home in the Hamptons from House & Garden 2007. It is my dream/goal in life to buy a house in the Hamptons at some point, so seeing a gorgeous place like Gwyneth's is just pure inspiration for me.

Look at this staircase! Can you just imagine?! Ahhh:

So amazing!

Pink Takes Center Stage

Do you ever dream in black and white? I won't bore you with the dreams I've had the past few nights (hearing someone else's nighttime dreams is one of my biggest pet peeves- sorry) but I will say that they have been absent of any sensible color outside of pink. How Reese Witherspoon of me à la Pleasantville, right? Ha! It is just so weird. Maybe it means something really deep and profound- who knows! Anyway, here are some of my favorite interiors where pink takes center stage.

I love that velvet blue chair against the soft pink walls. Gorgeous.

Lilly Meets M.A.C

Thank you all for your sweet comments about my crazy incidents last week. Thankfully, the past few days have been smooth-sailing *knock on wood*!

So I am a little late to the game on this (considering it was announced sometime last Fall) but I am just ecstatic that M.A.C Cosmetics teamed with Lilly Pulitzer for an ultra girlie, spring-inspired collection.

I'm not sure if the makeup is out in stores yet, but I did see on M.A.C's website that the paisley eyeshadow is available for purchase. I am definitely going to get one of the lip glosses- so cute!

Just a Mess of a Week

I honestly don't think I've been this excited for the weekend to come in a looong time. The saying 'when it rains it pours' has definitely been my life the past week. A few days ago it was alternating between being sunny and rainy here in LA, and since I was in traffic, I decided to roll down my window to let some of the cooler air in when the sun was shining. No sooner was that baby all the way down, when some impatient jerk decided to pass a bunch of us by driving up on the curb, and literally sprayed my entire interior (along with myself) with disgusting, flooded roadside water. I honestly looked like I had just been on Splash Mountain. My makeup was running down my face, my hair was soaking, and my clothes were ruined. I completely lost it and started crying- I was so upset! I had to go home and shower and then take my car to get cleaned on the inside. I was beyond frustrated.

After recovering from that ordeal, I stupidly dropped my credit card in our downstairs toilet (it fell out of my jacket pocket), and before I realized what happened, it was being flushed down into the great unknown. By the time the plumber could get to us, it was too late, and the only thing I got out of it was having to pay him $150 to tell me there was nothing he could do. Note to self: always put by cc back in my wallet, even if I am in a hurry.

Finally, on Wednesday night, after a quick run to Ulta (I got a bottle of Essie in Ballet Slippers, btw- love it), I found myself locked out of the house with my key just spinning in endless circles. After standing outside for 3 hours in the cold, and the locksmith breaking five of his tools whilst cursing in some odd language (a mix of French, Spanish, and possibly some Japanese?!), we finally were able to get into the house. Our townhouse is newly built and the locks are these ultra-techy secure things that apparently do not let anyone or anything get passed them. At least we know that we're safe in here! Anyway, that ended up being $255, so I was just sick over it.

Thankfully, this is my light at the end of the tunnel. Take a look at my kitchen counter:

God help me!

Ok, hope you have a great weekend! xoxo

P.S. Just wanted to spread the word that Heather (or Mrs. P to me!) @ Alis Grave Nil has a new website address for her blog- http://www.nothingisheavy.com/ So if you had the alisgravenil{dot}com address connected on your sidebar or reader, be sure to delete it and switch to the new one!

A Decorative Home

One of my favorite things to do is decorate our home. It doesn't matter if the pieces are from Macys, TJMaxx, or even the flea market; I strive to find anything that is practical yet still reflects my personal style. Here are a few of my current decor wish list items from Cox&Cox that I am hoping will make their way to me one day!

Love Pillowcases:
Hanging Button Hearts:
Whitewashed Candlesticks:
Wooden Shadow Boxes:
Chalkboard Peg Rack:

One more day until the weekend! Woo! xoxo

Home Office Spaces

Since both K and I have laptop's, we barely use our home computer and office area, but it is nice to go upstairs and be in there when I am in need of more room for work. It also saves my legs from getting burned from my laptop! Does this happen to anyone else?! Anyway, here are some really gorgeous home office spaces that I would totally ditch the couch for:

I thought this one was cute for any little ones you might have at your house:

Do you use a home office, or do you prefer just to hang out in the family room on your computer?!
