Neutrals Create Beauitful Spaces

I'm really into neutrals lately, and have even switched up my bedroom decor to go with a creme, tan, and beige theme. It sounds kind of blah, but it feels so clean and crisp, and makes me happy. When I came across this Malibu Lake house (yes, we actually have a lake in Malibu here- it's not all beach) with a neutral color theme, I immediately saved it to my inspiration folder.

Love this photo shoot by Nicole Nodland. It makes me realize how incredibly lucky I am to live in Los Angeles. I can't believe I've been here for almost 6 years now- such a life.dream.come.true. It's beauty, culture, opportunity; Los Angeles is truly unique and I cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Movie Sets: Something's Gotta Give

Have you ever watched a movie or television show and just wished you could live inside that set? I am completely obsessed with the production side of television and movies, and the sets in each piece of cinema I watch play a huge role in the overall experience for me. My fascination with production sets started at a young age, as I used to watch shows and literally try to figure out how the set was laid out in the studio. I would try and look for inconsistencies in filming that would give little clues to how the set really looked; wondering what the view looked liked for those standing just to the side of the lens.

There has been one writer/director/producer in particular who, in my opinion, has gone above and beyond when it comes to using the most elegant and exquisite movie sets, and that would be none other than the brilliant Nancy Meyers. You may know her as the master mind behind Father of the Bride, Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, and most recently, It's Complicated. I'm sure you have seen at least one of these movies, and like me, have probably fallen in love with the fictional setting in which the characters live. My favorite one is the beautiful Hampton's home that was built for Something's Gotta Give and designed by set decorator, Beth Rubino.

Blob-of-a-House

I recently found this small living space on Apartment Therapy and thought it was so interesting! It's seriously a blob. This small, mobile space is known as the "Blob VB3" and its shell is made entirely out of polyester. Astonishingly, it can fit a bathroom, kitchen, shelving, storage, and even has room for you to catch some zzz's.

Can you see the bathroom in the back?! How awkward if you had company over!

I'm way too claustrophobic for this little guy! What do you think? Can you picture yourself living in the Blob VB3?

You Can Call Me Martha

For Christmas my Dad bought me something I've wanted for a long time- a Kitchen Aid stand mixer (ugh, am I really that old where I ask for housewares?!). When I started cooking last year in an effort to eat healthier, I never thought I'd actually like it, let alone fall in love with it. After many tips from Ina, Giada, and of course my girl, Martha, I was ready to take the next step and make it official with some good kitchen tools. So, without further ado, meet the newest member of our kitchen...(and sorry for my reflection in the bowl- not my best look. I even tried standing on a chair!)

Tory Burch: My.....

...Favorite 2010 Resort Collection So Far!

I know we are right smack-in-the-middle of winter, but here in Los Angeles we have had highs near 80 degrees (sorry to my Midwest and East Coast friends). The warm weather had me instantly searching online for some resort collections, and from what I've seen, it looks like we are in for a fabulous season! My favorite so far? Definitely Tory Burch. Her line was inspired by her travels, and puts you right in the center of a tropical paradise. Vibrant yellows, piercing blues, and whimsical gold undertones make for a line filled with pieces that exude fun, elegance, and relaxation tangled with a tinge of sophistication.

I'm usually not one for colors at all (I like my blacks, greys, and whites) but I am loving all of it in her collection!

I love this store Bloomingville in Denmark that sells some of the most shabby, chic, and classy pieces for your home! The sophisticate country-meets-Rachel Ashwell esque decor makes for comfortable living and a guest-friendly environment year-round.

I seriously want to live in these images! And that rose pillow in the first image?! Gorge!

PS. Random side note/question for you that clearly does not belong in the same post as these elegant & classy images, BUT, here it goes. Is anyone else excited that it's Thursday solely for the fact that we'll be graced by the presence that is Jersey Shore in T minus 15 or so hours? Ahh, can't believe I said it out loud to y'all, but gahhh- this show has got me! I partly love it, and I partly love to hate it- which pretty much makes for me being enthralled by it.

Have you seen this show!?!? I'd love to know your thoughts! Everyone's opinion seems to differ greatly, which is partly what fascinates me about this show, so I'm dying to know what the blog world thinks!
