G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome all of you to my new home...........ha! I wish! Isn't this place just to.die.for? Not sure if a guy would be willing to live in here, but for us girls I think it's a dream.

(I honestly do not remember which magazine site I got these photos from because they've been on my comp for a while, so if they are from your site please let me know so I can link them!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Any fun plans? Not much going on over here- hopefully catching up on some laundry (does it ever end?) and running tons of errands. Boring!

See you Monday :)

Tunic Love

I'm totally loving the Alexander Wang Spring 2010 collection. This cropped, striped tunic (also in full length here) is so perfect. I usually wear tons of black or grey, so this piece would be so much fun for the warmer weather coming up. When I was browsing the collection I immediately thought of these cards that I've been wanting from Rifle Paper Co. How cute are they?!

Inspiration Folders

Do any of you keep folders on your computer with images that you just love and inspire you? I've been doing this for a few years now and I just love it. I would totally suggest doing this, even if you delete the images after a while. I can't tell you how many times I've been able to go back to my inspiration folders and find something that has helped me in some way! I have folders for home interiors (fabric, rugs, furniture), spaces (bedrooms, vanity areas, bathrooms) and fashion ones as well. Most of the images end up either on the bloggy blog or being deleted, but it's still nice to have them! A few years ago, before I got all techy (or at least I try to be techy), I would print images out and put them on boards or in binders, which is actually more fun than just saving them to your comp. Anyway, here are some images I found last night that I quickly added to their respective folders:

Mhmm- I love me some white and cream interiors! Probably not the easiest to maintain, but oh.so.gorgeos.

Le Grand & La Plage by Ralph Lauren

I'm so in love with the newest collections by Ralph Lauren Home. Le Grand Hotel and La Plage are both sophisticated and tranquil with a tinge of glamour!

The cream and navy blue palette is so refreshing in rooms after long winter seasons.
Gorgeous!

Happy Monday loves xoxo

Here's to sunshine...and randomness!

Sorry it's been so quiet over here the past few days! I've been trying to catch up with so many emails and work and my poor blog was the first to go out the window. Don't think I've been abandoning your blogs though, because I've been reading them and realizing more and more everyday how much I love being a part of the blog world! Most of the time I can't comment on your amazing posts because I read them on my phone, but I promise this weekend will include some comment stalking from me!

Also, to answer collectively to some emails I've received lately- no, I did not delete/block you from my twitter! I actually got a new one because twitter was acting up and kept telling me I was following weird people. One of my besties told me she couldn't see my updates anymore so I eventually deleted it. My new one is @lovebrunch It's still set to private, but please don't hesitate to request me- you know I love you and have missed seeing all of your updates!

Last but not least, it's been in the high 70s here in Los Angeles this week, but I hear from Mark Thompson (my favorite dancing.mhmmm.he.dances weather man on Fox11 LA) that it will rain this weekend. So here's to passing along tons of warmth and sunshine to all of you who I know desperately need it after months of snow and other crazy conditions.

Have a great few days off xoxo

P.S. K surprised me last night with Carrie Underwood tickets for her October show in Hollywood! I am just beyond excited. Love.that.girl. Any SoCal girls going?!

The Gospel According to Coco Chanel

Yesterday I bought The Gospel According to Coco Chanel and I love it! It's a fun, quick read that gives you some insight on who Coco really was and her monumental influence on every aspect of fashion. Not an in-depth analysis or anything, but entertaining none-the-less. So, in something not.so.fashionable, I'm going to be a hideous blogger and re-post an old entry about one of my favorite Chanel pieces (although I did update it a little!). I have yet to add this beauty to my collection, but I can never get enough of looking at it!

The Chanel 2.55

Original Post Date: June 9, 2009

Out of all the gorgeous handbags, I feel as if there is one that truly stays simple, timeless, and classic: the Chanel 2.55. The bag has had few modifications since its debut in February 1955 (hence the name 2.55), yet it still looks great with everything from a pair of jeans to a cocktail dress.

Each bag contains a mystique, partly because of Chanel’s history and iconography. The quilting, for example, is suggestive of her love of riding as a young woman (quilted material was originally worn only by stable-boys).

The trademark chain of golden metal plaited with a leather cord has similar connotations of horse bridles and girdles, and also perhaps of the garb worn by the Catholic nuns who educated Coco as a girl.

Perhaps the most significant of all are the inner compartments of the 2.55 is the flap, which contains a secret pocket for hiding love letters or money. There is also the double-C logo stitched inside the second flap. Oh those magical letters!

Inside there are three more discreet compartments, including one for lipstick (without which Chanel never showed herself to the world). Here's to you, Coco!

Love is all around

I'm not a big V-Day person. I'm not anti the day; I'm just not a fan. In the past we've spent over $100/person for V-Day date-nights here in LA and I just cannot justify that anymore, especially this year with all of the hurt and need I see going on. I'm also probably the only girl on earth who doesn't like flowers (although I'm sure K and his wallet don't mind) as I'd rather use that money on something that I won't throw away 3 days later. I know, is my heart black or what?! With that said, I do love all the cute accessories in the stores and boutiques lately! Here are some of my faves that I rounded up from around the web that you can use everyday of the year!

Red Letter Words & Pink Pig

I wanted to introduce you to two extremely fabulous shops (if you haven't been already!) that are now sponsoring Brunch at Saks. The first is Red Letter Words, where the amazing Dee creates beautiful, faith-inspired art that not only looks gorgeous on your wall, but has significance and meaning behind it. Dee's uses the power of words in her pieces to display messages of hope, love, faith, family, and inspiration- they're sure to standout wherever you put them. Her art is truly unique and such a delight!

The second shop that I am so excited to tell you about is Pink Pig, which, in the owner's words, "offers an irresistible blend of New York City style and rural charm out of an old carriage house." The store is absolutely amazing; filled sophisticate NYC city girl-meets-vintage charm-meets-shabby chic all wrapped into one! The clothing, jewelry, accessories, and furniture will all be must-haves once you see them! The best part? Pink Pig is a green business and uses low- or no-VOC products to paint and distress their furniture, and offers organic clothing, bedding, and accessories!

Happy Tuesday xoxo

Victorian Rebel

I recently came across this amazing jewelry and accessories line, Marquis & Camus, and I was instantly enamored. Their pieces are edgy, elegant, and overall exquisite. If one of these pieces just so happened to end up in my hands on V-Day, let's just say I would NOT be disappointed! Ha! *Hint-hint, K (if you ever read this ;)* I paired the jewelry with this lovely photo from Elle online. Enjoy loves!

DIY: Valentine's Day Candy Bar

I recently saw this post on wrapping a candy bar, so I thought I would give it a try since Valentine's Day is right around the corner. It was super fast, easy, and cheap! Total cost = $12.47. The scrapbook paper was on sale at Michaels for $0.20 per sheet, as was the twine for only $0.69, and the Hershey bars were 10 for $10. (I used the larger bars because of the sale, but the standard size will work fine too)

How to: Cut paper to the size of outer Hershey wrapper (I unfolded one and used it as a template); place bar upside down on paper (print side down) and fold over one side- taping securely; fold over opposite flap and tape; wrap twine around & tie bow; draw with a marker and cut a heart out of pink, red, or brown paper; tape heart to bar.

Simple, right?! I am sure there are tons of variations to this (stickers, ribbons, etc.), so don't be afraid to try anything. I thought a poem would be cute written on a bigger heart cut-out. These bars would be perfect for a family get-together, birthday party, baby shower, wedding favors, or just for your counter.

Have a good weekend xoxo

My Dream House

Ok, I just about fell out of my chair when I found this house! Seriously, this.is.my.dream.house.y'all. The crown molding; coffered oval ceilings mirroring the harlequin mosaic marbled flooring; silvery-blue covered walls; the bevy of tall and grand windows- I must stop because I can go on and on. Oh, and the best part about this house? It was the grand prize in a lottery that benefited cancer research funds in Canada!

So gorgeous! xoxo
